What time should guests arrive?
Our ceremony begins at 3:00 PM, and we recommend arriving by 2:45 PM to get settled before we get started.
Is the venue indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place outside, so dress for the weather! The cocktail hour and reception will follow indoors in the ballroom.
Do guests need any ID or credentials to get on base?
Yes! West Point is an active military base, so all guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID at the gate to be admitted onto the base.
Is there parking available at West Point/the Thayer Hotel?
If you are not staying at the Thayer, please note that valet parking is reserved for hotel guests only. Day guests should park in the lot at the bottom of the hill and use the call box to request a golf cart pickup. Someone will come to bring you up to the hotel — just give yourself a few extra minutes so you arrive relaxed and on time!
What should I know about hotel check-in if I'm staying at the Thayer?
Standard check-in at the Thayer is 4:00 PM, which is after our ceremony begins at 3:00 PM. The hotel is aware of our wedding and will do their best to accommodate early check-ins — we recommend contacting them in advance if you plan to arrive early and need access to your room before the ceremony.
Are there other nearby hotels if the block fills up?
If our room block is full, we recommend the Holiday Inn, located about a 10-minute drive from the Thayer. Note that we don't have a room block there, so you would book directly.
Is there a shuttle between the Thayer and nearby hotels?
We are not providing a shuttle service, so if you are staying at an off-site hotel such as the Holiday Inn, you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the Thayer. Uber and Lyft are available in the area, or guests are welcome to drive and use the parking options outlined above.
